Goffstown Main Street Program’s annual Giant Pumpkin Weigh-off and Regatta opens on Saturday, October 18th and runs through Sunday afternoon, October 19th. The NH Giant Pumpkin Growers Association conducts its state weigh-off to determine who grew the state’s largest giant pumpkin at 11 a.m. on Saturday. In addition to the weigh-off there will be an art show, flea market, pumpkin hunt, talent competition, pumpkin cook-off, doggie costume contest, pumpkin catapulting, food booths, concerts, art sale, and pumpkin decorating. The Goffstown Historical Society will host a turkey dinner that evening, and the Goffstown Fire and Rescue Association will show a movie on the town Common at dusk. On Sunday, the day kicks off at noon with the dropping of a giant pumpkin from 90 feet in the air into a pool of water. There will be a pie eating contest, mini-pumpkin race, shopping cart and little red wagon races, pumpkin games, and food booths.
