The Art Cocoons are made with a special high quality moisture resistant hard corrugated board which requires special machinery to die cut. Deciding on a company to entrust with her dream project turned out to be more difficult than designing the Art Cocoon itself. Eventually LaBrecque settled on three companies in Kansas, assuring that the manufacture, assembly, and distribution are all done by American companies inside American borders by American workers. And the resulting product meets the exceptionally high standards that LaBrecque first imagined. She is very proud of the quality, “I had to research all the different types of cardboard in all the different grades. I decided to go with the military grade corrugated cardboard because it’s an American product and it’s the best.”
Surprisingly, the faltering economy gave LaBrecque the break she needed when Liberty Carton stepped up, looking for new types of business and decided to take a chance on her fledgling company. Their working relationship is a big part of Art Cocoon’s success.
Art Cocoons have now been featured in the September ’10 Artist’s Magazine, and are becoming hot sellers. A new Cocoon is being developed for Scrapbookers, and will be available on her web site, www.myartcocoon.com. Light to carry and affordable at only $12.00 each, NH artists will soon be able to purchase their Cocoons locally. LaBrecque continues to send an individual thank you with every order. “It’s taken awhile to smoothe this out. I learned a long time ago, in business always take baby steps. It’s much easier to step back from a small mistake than a big one. Art Cocoon has never had a returned product or an unhappy customer!”
