Perfect weather helped, but perfect planning once again proved that nobody can throw a party the way the Goffstown Main Street Program can throw a party! The UnCommon Art On the Common Saturday was a tremendous success, with strong attendance, dozens of interesting vendors, music and good food up and down the block. The advertising for this event was strong and there were people visiting from as far away as Portsmouth, who came specifically for the UnCommon Art show. I spoke to people from Nashua, Merrimack, and even Pennsylvania, even one vendor from Arizona! All were very glad they made the effort to visit the Common and see the many different art booths on display.
A Note From Robbie:
Here at Goffstown Main Street, we are always in awe of the talent in our community and our state, and this past weekend was no exception! We had a wonderful Uncommon Art on the Common festival with terrific artists, great guests, and perfect weather! We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our artists who participated, some who were with us last year, and many artists who came for the first time. Judging by the number of purchases we saw, we think our guests were delighted with what you had to offer. Thanks to Art Cocoon and Brown Graphix for technical support. We thank the town of Goffstown for allowing us to host an event Downtown, our neighbors for allowing us to use their lawns, and to Rich Araldi for his musical contribution. Most of all, we thank our volunteers who made the day happen. Special thanks go to Pat LaBrecque, Judy McLean, Reta MacGregor, Peggy Hatfield, Nina Duval, and Sue Cannella for much of the pre-event organization. Thank you to Tammy Gross, Diane Ryan, Mike Ryan, Kevin Grady, Dennis Rechcygl, and Beverly Powden for working during the event, and to our young volunteers Molly, Lauren, Erika, and Blaine for all they did to make the event a success. Thank you, Goffstown Edge, for helping us get the word out!
Robbie Grady, CMSM, Executive Director
One booth in particular simply had to be seen to be believed, so let me introduce Debra LaPoint, from Griffinhill in New Boston. Words do not convey the incredible detail in these miniatures, so let me just show you...
