The Goffstown Historical Society invites everyone to Tell Us A Story, Monday, September 19th at the society’s meeting at their museum, 18 Parker Station Road, Goffstown. “All year long we’ve enjoyed learning about our town’s history as we’ve been celebrating our 250th birthday, now it’s time to tell and record our stories for future generations,” said Robbie Grady, program committee member. “We’d like community members to come out, tell about their lives or something of interest in Goffstown. It doesn’t have to be something monumental, just something about who we are and how we live. With the proliferation of less permanent records of life such as email and blogs, we need to be sure to have something recorded about our time in Goffstown. Of course, we have to hope that future generations will have the technology available to read a DVD!” Society members and the general public will have the chance to tell a short recollection which will be recorded by the Goffstown Public Library. The collection of stories will be stored at both the library and the museum.
The meeting begins with a potluck dinner served at 6:15 p.m. Bring a dish to share, plus your own plates and utensils. Those interested in attending just the meeting, please plan to arrive at 7:00 p.m. Parking is available at Carr Corner opposite the museum, and the building is handicap accessible.
