NEW BOSTON’S 81st ANNUAL 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION PROMISES FUN FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY
June 27, 2012 (New Boston, NH) –New Boston, NH’s 81st Annual 4th of July Celebration kicks-off Wednesday morning July 4, 2012 at 10:00 am when the award-winning parade steps-off at the top of High Street. Bikers from Little People’s Depot Preschool lead the way, followed by one of the most colorful and entertaining parades in the area, featuring marching bands; antique cars, trucks and fire apparatus; clowns; horses; New Boston’s oldest and newest citizens.
The highlight of the New Boston parade is the creative (and fiercely competitive) street floats designed to this year’s parade theme: Families.
Festivities on the 4H Youth Center grounds begin immediately following the parade, beginning with the National Anthem and the traditional firing of the Revolutionary War-era Molly Stark Cannon by the New Boston Artillery Company. Venerable 4th of July favorites such as the famed chicken barbecue, horse pulling competition, mud volleyball tournament, fiddler’s contest, cowboy mounted shooters, and family entertainers and activities, are joined by an array of other events, including:
At 11:45 am – The Little Red Wagon theatre presents, “The Frog Prince.”
At 2:30 pm – Dog agility demonstration to benefit Upreach Therapeutic Riding Center.
At 3:00 pm – Old-timey Children’s Games: Sack races, three-legged races, and more fun than you can shake a stick at!
At 3:30 pm – TMud & the Spuds Bluegrass Band – New Boston’s own Tyler Mudrick and company entertain with traditional and original tunes!
And returning for a fifth consecutive season, New Boston Idol Karaoke at 7:00 pm! Hosted by Good Vibrations Entertainment, and featuring the judging prowess of New Boston’s own “Randy, Steven and J-LO,” New Boston Idol Karaoke has become a crowd favorite! Register at the stage beginning at 6:00 pm, and you just may be the next New Boston Idol!
Join us for the day, or come later to enjoy evening activities, great food, and view the fireworks from the best seats in town!
If you join us for the whole day, entrance to the grounds is just $5.00 per person (children under 12 admitted free – re-entry permitted), entrance is just $5.00 per car after 6:00 pm.
In addition to all of the great events and activities, food vendors are onsite throughout the event offering a wide selection of items, including burgers, dogs, sausages, fries, pizza, fresh-squeezed lemonade, soft serve and old fashioned ice cream and more!
Parking is always free, and exit from the grounds after the fireworks is swift.
Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets, pull up a spot on the grounds, grab something to eat and enjoy the sights and sounds of New Boston’s fantastic 4th of July!
