“Bring Your Dancing Feet & Celebrate as a Community in Dunbarton”
Dunbarton, NH - Sunday, June 26, 2011 6pm - 9pm
Join us for a Country Square Dance to benefit The Dunbarton Town Hall & Theatre Restoration Project. This is our first inaugural fund raising event to bring back our community landmark - The Dunbarton Town Hall. "This traditional country square dance should be a fun evening out for an entire family demonstrating how important it is that we bring back this historic landmark for Dunbarton", said by Tiffany Dodd, Chair for the Dunbarton Town Hall & Theatre Restoration Committee. This dance is an example of the kind of event that was offered monthly in the Town Hall over the past 100 years as the building served as a cornerstone for Dunbarton's residents.
Bob Boynton, Jr. a square dance caller from Dunbarton, is volunteering his time for the evening to call the dances for both beginners and the experienced dancers. He began calling dances in 1983 and has taught square dancing to 4-H clubs and at camp grounds throughout New Hampshire. He specializes in a style of calling known as “Singing Squares.” His dances also include waltzes, fox trots and polkas.
The day of fun for all - just after the very successful Dunbarton Firefighter's Association Annual Chicken BBQ, we will kick off the country square dance at the Dunbarton Community Center just next door.
