The Goffstown Public Library and the Community Clothing Center are sponsoring “Secondhand Chic”, a fashion show, at the Goffstown High School Hieber Auditorium on Friday, Sept. 21, from 7-9pm. Admission is free, but audience members who bring a non-perishable item for the Goffstown Food Pantry will be entered into the evening’s raffles.
The GHS Art Department will also sell jewelry, and refreshments will be available from the Culinary Club.
Thirty high school models are needed, both male and female, who can visit the Community Clothing Center in the summer or early September to choose outfits to model. Interested models need to be committed to the success of the show.
If interested, visit www.goffstownlibrary.com and choose “Register for Programs” on the left hand side of the home page to sign up.
For further details, call Sandy or Denise at 497-2102.
The Friends of the Goffstown Public Library wish to thank everyone who came out to make our annual book sale a success. Thanks to all of the Friends volunteers and the GHS Student Ambassadors, who helped to fill out our ranks once again. Everyone worked very hard in spite of the weather to make the book sale happen. We would also like to thank all of the guests who came out to find great deals on books and of course all of those who donated their gently loved books throughout the year. We couldn’t do this without both donors and shoppers!
While overall the book sale was successful, as with the rest of Old Home Day events, attendance was way down. In order to ensure that the Friends of the Goffstown Public Library can continue sponsoring the Museum Pass Program and other programs throughout the year uninterrupted, we have decided to hold a second book sale this year during regatta weekend. The sale will be Saturday, October 13. Keep an eye out for more details later this summer!
