Goffstown Elementary School Open House for Community

The Goffstown School Board would like to invite any resident of Goffstown to take a tour of Bartlett Elementary School and Maple Avenue Elementary School. Residents of Goffstown will be asked to vote on a warrant article for the renovation and expansion of both elementary schools on voting day, March 13, 2012.  This is an opportunity for community members to see our schools as they currently exist and to review the proposed plans. There will be time to explore the buildings and ask questions about the projects!  The open house for Bartlett Elementary School will be on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. The open house for Maple Avenue Elementary School will be on Wednesday, February 22, 2012.  The open house will run from 6:00-7:30.   Please stop in at any time during that period!

Mt View Middle School Bus Schedule Adjustments

On January 10th and January 16th, Mountain View Middle School will be in session.  These will be two make-up days for days lost due to the October snow storm.  All other schools in Goffstown will be closed on these days.

The bus routes for Mountain View Middle School have been revised as we will only be transporting MVMS students on those days.  Only Goffstown Routes have changed. Dunbarton and New Boston bus routes to MVMS have remained the same.   Please go to:  www.goffstown.k12.nh.us or the MVMS home page to view the revised bus routes.  If you have any questions regarding routes, please contact the Goffstown Truck Center at 497-3111.

We appreciate everyone's efforts as we make up these two days for our MVMS students.

(Note:  New Boston Central School will also be in session on Tuesday, January 10 for a make up day.  There will be no changes to those bus routes).

MVMS Schedules School Make-Up Days

Due to a power outage associate with the October snowstorm, Mount View Middle School in Goffstown was closed on November 1, and 2, while other schools within the district remained open.

The Goffstown School Board has approved two make-up days scheduled for Tuesday, January 10 (Election Day), and Monday, January 16 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day).

There will be a need to modify some bus routes and bus stops.  Once the Goffstown Truck Center confirms the changes, the school district will notify students and parents affected after the holiday break.

Goffstown Elementary School's Annual Halloween Parade

On Friday, October 28, 2011, the Goffstown schools will be celebrating Halloween with our Annual Parade.  Starting at approximately 1:00 pm, students from Maple Avenue Elementary School, Bartlett Elementary School, Villa Augustina and local kindergartens will be marching through town to celebrate the holiday.  The Goffstown High School Marching Band will also participate in this festive event.
           The parade starts at Maple Avenue Elementary School and goes to Elm St, Main Street, around the traffic circle, back down Main Street, to Mill Street and Cottage Street.  The parade will last approximately thirty minutes.   Please note that while the parade is en route, there will be no vehicle traffic allowed through downtown Goffstown.  Please plan alternate routes during this period of time.

Get An Inside Look at Schools in SAU 19

The schools of SAU 19 are a vital and integral part of the communities of Goffstown, Dunbarton and new Boston.  Are you interested in learning more about how the schools work, what the budget process is, or what the state and federal laws are surrounding schools?  Join Superintendent of Schools Stacy Buckley in a five-night workship series that will answer all of these questions for you.

Did you ever wonder what a student’s day is like?  How technology is used in classrooms?  What children are taught in school?

Buckley will host a series of one-and-a-half-hour workshops to help the community learn more about our schools.  The sessions will be held once a month, each with a different topic, and for a culminating event in February, where you will have an opportunity to shadow a student at Goffstown Hig School to see what you learned in action.

The dates and topics are as follows:

•     Thursday, September 22- An overview of SAU 19
•     Thursday, October 20- The budget and budget process in each of the three communities
•     Thursday November 17- Support services including guidance, special education, 504
•     Thursday, December 15- Technology, curriculum, course offerengs and athletics
•     February- Shadow a student at Goffstown High School

The sessions will be held at Goffstown High School and will be open to any resident of Goffstown, Dunbarton and New Boston.

The sessions will run from 6:30 to 8 pm on the designated evenings.  You may attend one or all sessions.

In order to participate in the shadow day, you must attend at least one of the previous workshop sessions.

While preregistration is not required, in order to ensure that materials are available for everyone, it would be helpful to preregister by calling SAU 19 at 497-4818.
