New Boston CERT Awarded 2011 Grant

The New Boston Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), lead by Bill Thompson, has been awarded a CERT grant in the amount of $7,800.  This comprehensive grant will provide funds for a multitude of the team's goals.  With grant funding, the team hopes to recruit new members, provide training, public awareness programs, equipment and protective clothing.  The organization responded to more calls than ever in 2010 and contunes to be a critical part of the New Boston Emergency Services Team.

CERT "Fill The Fire Boot" in New Boston

On Saturday, November 6th, the New Boston CERT will hold its annual "Fill the Fire Boot" fundraiser at the New Boston Transfer Station and Recycling Center form 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Members of the CERT team will be available with literature and displaying their equipment previously purchased.

New Boston CERT training begins Oct. 2

The New Boston Community Emergency Respionse Team will host a free training on Saturday, October 2 and Saturday October 9 from 8 am to 4:30 pm in New Boston.  The class is open to all surrounding communities to learn how to be better prepared to face unexpected emergencies.  This course will fulfill requirements for those wishing to become CERT members, as well.  The complete course convers both days.  Registration for class will close September 24.

This course will fulfill requirements for those wishing to become CERT members, as well.  The complete course covers both days.  Susan Jutras, Goffstown CERT will be instructing. Tornado Safety Class in New Boston

New Boston CERT Deputy Director Karen Thomson will be presenting a program on Tornado Safety on Wednesday, July 7th at 7 p.m. at the Whipple Free Library, behind the Post Office.  Please join us at this informative program to learn how to protect your home from damage, help keep you and your family safe during major wind events, hot to "protect-in-place," and how to handle the aftermath.  Please RSVP if you plan to attend to newbostoncert@comcast.net as space is limited.

NBCS Kickoff to Summer 5K Race/Walk June 19th

The NBCS Kickoff to Summer 5K Race/Walk, in memory of Dave Cramb, will be held Saturday, June 19th.  The race will begin at NBCS.  A "mad dash" for the younger kids kicks off the day at 9:30 a.m., followed by the runners at 10 a.m., with the walkers to follow.  Come and participate in a wonderful way to kickoff summer with a fun and healthy competition, all in support of our excellent elementary school.  The race course is a flat and windy loop along the Piscataquog River.  Terrain includes both dirt and pavement.  Awards and prizes will be given out to many age divisions.  There are many sponsorship opportunities available in support of this wonderful fundraiser, and they vary in price.  New this year, a Family Sponsor includes four runner/walker registrations, free T-shirts and name on signage at the race.  Please look for our flier at the school, Dodge's Store, New Boston Pizza and other local businesses.  Alternatively, you can contact Sara Maley at 487-3631.  To register for the race, grab a brochure or go on line to www.active.com.  Download KickoffSummer2010
