Cabin Fever Comedy Night

Fun, laughs, music and prizes are just the start to the New Boston Recreation's Cabin Febver Comedy Night on Saturday, March 17, at the New Boston Central School.

The adult lip sync contest begins at 8 pm, with doors opening at 7 pm.

After the lip sync, two professional comedians, Tom Hayes and steve Scarfo, take to the stage.

Door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, snacks and more are just a part of this age 21-plus event.

Tickets for the show in advance are $10.  If available, tickets at the door will be $12.  Tickets can be purchased at the New Boston Recreation Department, 5 Meetinghouse Hill Road, during office hours, or online at https://newbostonnh-rec.windigicert.com.  For details call 487-5504, ext. 112 or 113.

New Boston Scarecrow Alley

Scarecrow Alley will come to life again this fall on the Town Common.

All New Boston residents, organizations and businesses are encouraged to make a scarecrow for the display.  Creations can be set up on the Common starting Friday, September 30th and must be taken down by Sunday, October 30th.

You can register your creation in the family, business or organization category and prizes will be awarded in each.  There is no cost to register, but yu must register and get a number from the Recreation Office to be judged.  The Recreation Department and Whipple Free Library co-sponsor this event each year.

2011 Summer Concert Series

Bring your blanket or chair and enjoy a Sunday summer afternoon on the town common at our Summer Concert Series.  As the bands play on the gazebo you can enjoy  their music and some good food hot off the Recreation Departments grill.  We sell hot dogs, hamburgers, snacks and beverages during the concerts.  All concerts are from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM and the dates and bands are:

5th Annual New Boston Yard Sale

2011 Yard Sale will benefit NBCS PTA

June 11, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Yard Sale registration is $20 if held at your house and $25 for a space on the Town Common, depending on the location of your home.  Your registration covers advertising, signage, house numbers and balloon and maps.

Registration forms are available in the May edition of the New Boston Bulletin, page 17

Anyone wishing to shop the Town-Wide Yard Sale can purchase a $3 map leading to vendor participants.  Maps will be available at the Town Gazebo.  Purchase of the map includes a raffle ticket for a yard bench that will be raffled off on July 11th.  Concessions will be available between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the Common.

Saturday, May 14, 2011 Cost is $30 per person ($35 for non-New Boston residents), which includes transportation (on a nice comfy coach bus), a $15 keno play and a $15 lunch coupon or free lunch buffet.
