We Reached Our Spring Fund Drive Goal !
Thanks to our generous members and supporters, the Piscataquog Land Conservancy (PLC) ended this fiscal year (7/1/10 - 6/30/11) in a strong financial position. We met our fiscal year-end goal, a wonderful finale to a year chock-full of success!
Of course, we owe it all to your continued support and belief in our mission! Thank you!
To recap, in the past few months, the PLC has:
- closed our fiscal year in the black, thanks to the support of our nearly 400 supporters
- surpassed 5,000 acres now under PLC protection
- graduated 12 new wildlife trackers for our "Keeping Track" program
- monitored 90 conservation areas primarily with our volunteer monitoring program
- presented programs to organizations across the watershed and the state
What's Up Next?
Summer isn't slowing us down, that's for sure! The PLC volunteers are posting 11 new properties with spiffy new identifications signs, and the staff is also working on 8 more land conservation projects, projects that will add 700 more acres to our protected land base.
Monitoring is going full-steam ahead as well and we're planning on getting even more people out onto the land with our upcoming "Walk In The Woods" excursions.
Plus we're upgrading to a new stewardship database program and a new membership database program, we're planning our 41st Annual Meeting to be held on October 22, (save the date!) and preparing for our annual Lobster by the River event, to be held on September 11th. Phew, it's busy around here!
