Ok, guys, this is it! The countdown to Valentine’s Day has begun, and lucky for you, Goffstown’s Main Street has got you covered! From roses to chocolates to diamonds to mushy cards, and more, your Valentine’s shopping just got a whole lot easier!
First, you know you have to have flowers. Roses are not mandatory, but … Ask at Apotheca for the best advice on what’s hot. Visit the shop on Depot Street, and while you’re at it, get a latte, ‘cause you’re going to need the energy to keep the shopping spree going.
Trot on over to Elm Street and Jo-Marie’s Country Shoppe for Van Otis chocolates. Hint: if you pick out the ones you like the best, at least you know one person will be happy! And, ladies, don’t let your men have all the fun. You can shop, too, for things that will make him feel pampered. Check out the live mannequins in Jo-Marie’s window this week to get an idea. Yes, you read that right, live mannequins.
A kiss on the hand may be so, well, so NOT inspiring on Valentine’s Day, and diamonds may not be a girl’s best friend, but they are in the top 10. Two words for you, guys: Powden’s Jewelry. Stop in at 4 Main Street, grab yourself a muffin at the Happy Tomato, and then stop next door at Family Main Street Salon for a gift certificate for a salon day. Or buy one at Luna Salon, or Village Cuts. Just don’t call it a makeover package!
Wine? Did someone say wine? Sully’s has a lovely selection of wine, and cheese, and did you know this? Cigars!
Jane at Little Round House Gift Shop will happily find you something for your sweetie whether she likes blue glass or red hats. Our newest shop is on Church Street, so stop in and say hi on your way to the Post Office.
Going for the gusto? A home renovation would put a smile on her face. Stop by Home Designers and talk to Roger, or visit Bob at Don-Mar’s. And, listen, don’t go for the new man’s cave. Try for something a bit more romantic, like say, a new master bath suite, su-weet!
Of course, your Valentine might just like to get away from it all. Dinner out is a sure bet, and we’ve got restaurants in every category for you. Pizza, check! Chinese, check! Burgers and bar snacks, check! Casual American, check! Something to pop in the microwave for the kids and the sitter, check!
But if you want to REALLY get away from it all, talk to Rita at Travel About and book a vacation someplace sunny. Without snow. And warm. Sigh.
You can find Valentine gifts at the most unexpected places. Visit Brown Graphix and ask about personalized gifts. Or check out Goffstown Ace Hardware. Ok, you can look at the tool section, but trust me, you’ll do better off at the front of the store. No Valentine’s Day is complete without the card. Lace covered, racy or romantic, you need a card. Howes Pharmacy’s got just what you’re looking for.
Yup, Goffstown’s Main Street has everything your Valentine’s little heart desires, so get down here and start shopping!

Okay, I know that 3.5 minutes is kinda long. But I'm doing a video series of the three gift shops in Goffstown, and this is Vid#1- Apotheça Flower Shoppe and Tea Chest. Anyone who still thinks they have to go to the mall to find a nice gift is missing out.
Watch the Goffstown Edge later this week for The Little Round Gift Shop, and next week look for Jo-Marie's Country Shoppe and Goffstown Ace Hardware.
