There will be a free program called "Brewing in New Hampshire, an Informal History of Beer and Ale Brewing in the Granite State from Colonial Times to the Present," on Friday, September 23, at 7pm at the Weare Town Hall.
The presenter will be scholar Glenn Knoblock.
The program is sponsored by the Weare Historical Society, Weare Public Library and the New Hampshire Humanities Council.

Forms required to participate in Weare Historical Society's 17th annual townwide yard sale on Saturday, June 4, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., will be available starting April 1 to residents of Weare at the town office, post office, library and local businesses. The form will also be available at http://www.wearehistoricalsociety.org/. Completed forms must be returned to the Weare Historical Society by May 15.
Weare Christmas Party at the Weare Town Hall, 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, December 5. here will be a tree lighting, caroling, a visit from Santa, crafts for children, refreshments and a puppeteer. Fiddle contests evolved from being endurance fiddling events to playing a set number of tunes judged by certain specific criteria. Whether large or small, fiddle contests tried to show who was the "best," as well as preserve old-time fiddling, and raise money for local organizations. In recent years, the fiddle contest has declined significantly in New Hampshire and Vermont due to cultural changes and financial viability. Presenter Adam Boyce will play some of the winning fiddler's tunes that have become traditions.
